I finished a series of six large paintings titled After Eden 1 - 6. I thought I’d follow with a painting of the utopic Eden. I couldn’t. Instead, I turned to the painter herself, in her studio, contemplating her own painting of Eden, and in it the figures of Adam and Eve and first love. The painter is old, her studio is perhaps an Eden of her own conception, her tender embracing Adam and Eve, perhaps an homage to her own experience. The details of the painting are of my own studio, step stool, easels, work table, and materials. It’s painted in celebration of it all.
